About
Born on the first day of spring, a bouncing baby girl was gifted with a powerful set of lungs. A healthy cry alarmed the neighbors, but they loved her dearly.
Tess plays guitar, mandolin, fluke (similar to ukulele) and some keyboards. This variety of instruments aid her as she writes songs that lean toward the traditional country style.
In 1998, Tess achieved the “Crystal Music Award”, when she was named a finalist for the Association of Songwriters and Lyricists. As a result, one of her songs was published in an anthology entitled “On the Road.”
Aside from her songwriting, Tess has been fronting and managing the band, Silver Spur since 1996. With this five-piece band, she does covers and original tunes. Her great stage presence and outgoing personality branded her “little Ms. Firecracker” to her fans.
Aside from her enthusiasm and involvement in music, Tess continues to maintain a full time job as a local art teacher in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District. She shares her passion for the arts with the elementary school children in her district. Tess also shares with them her musical talents to enlighten them as well as help with various community and school fundraising events. With her music, she hopes to someday help fund art and music programs for the schools.
In 2004, Tess got an opportunity to record six of her original songs in Nashville, Tennessee. Her CD was produced by the well established Nashville producer, Mr. Bill McDermott. McDermott has produced other stars such as Gretchen Wilson and Blaine Larson. Tess’ 6-song CD may be acquired through CDBaby.com, Tower.com, Walmart.com, and many other digital companies online.
Tess Reyes is full of talent, and is true to herself as well as her passions. She performs with all she’s got and gives all that she can to her fans. She sings from her heart, a heart that is guiding her to fulfill a lifelong dream.
